21 Days of Prayer & Fasting - Day 4

Day 4
Good day to each of you!  Let's go in...

Devotional Scripture & Thought
Here is today's scripture with underlined areas of the verse(s) for us ALL to contemplate. I will share a brief thought and you are invited to share your thoughts about the scripture and those highlighted areas in the comments below...

"I will study your commandments and reflect on your ways." Psalm 119:15 (NIV)

I love this scripture's differentiation from yesterday's. Today highlights the process of studying the word. We need both reading the word - just to drink it in to be refreshed and studying the word - to soak in it and savor all that the Holy Spirit will empower us to draw in from it.  The declaration catches my eye outright... "I WILL".  There is no ambiguity here, it is a clear and straightforward statement which lets readers know exactly what is expected here.  Not a maybe, or a possibly, nor a likely, it is one of the must powerful two words any human can utter as they announce externally what has been done internally - a decision was made.  This decision says the writer will study commands and reflect on God's ways. What are you reading and what are some of your thoughts...?

My Journey's Observations
Day three found me still nursing a cold. I did ensure to stick to my fasting plan and score myself high for compliance. I was lower on prayer time than I would have liked, and will be drilling down on that in the next day's journey.

How about you?

I also wanted to remind us of a great resource called RightNow Media that you have free access to for quality teaching. If you need help getting to it, please give me a call. In fact, here is an invite if you haven't already signed up.

Finally
Remember, if you slip and eat or do something you were intending to fast from, just reset and restart. That is part of the learning curve as well.

I love you with the love of God...

Have a wonderful day and a tremendously blessed week!

Blessings,

Pastor Kris

Thank you, Pastor Kris! The last four days have been filled with prayer, Joel Osteen on satelllite radio, and studying the word.

I have found that without all the news podcasts and internet noise, I have been exponentially more in tune with things of the Lord and I am much more content and grateful than I have been in quite a while. God is good!

I pray your cold passes soon!

Mark

Recently I've been reading Psalms 119 . As I read I see the great devotion to God's Word and it calls to me to read and reread taking it into my heart. Verses 171-173 overflowing with praise, singing his word. Verse 173: "May your hand be ready to help me, for I have chosen your precepts. What joy God's Word brings to the heart. A joy that must be shared. How blessed we are

Elder Mel, the longest chapter in the bible is one filled with great treasures! I love the part you have highlighted for us in verse 173. It is the asking for His help, knowing I have (ACTIVELY AND CONTINUOUSLY) chosen His precepts (or His word for us). It is a joy indeed!!!! Keep it coming!!!
