21 Days of Prayer & Fasting - Day 11

Day 11 - Thurs 1/18/24
Good day to each of you!  Let's go in...

Devotional Scripture & Thought
Here is today's scripture with underlined areas of the verse(s) for us ALL to contemplate. I will share a brief thought and you are invited to share your thoughts about the scripture and those highlighted areas in the comments below...

"This will be written for the generation to come, that a people yet to be created may praise the Lord." Psalm 102:18 (NKJV)

Writing things down is a power practice. From a checklist of things that need our attention for the day, to creating a living trust for the safety and well being of our families, writing things down is a way to memorialize them. It gives it a level of significance that allowing it to operate only as a fleeting thought just does not. King David has a real grasp of this truth in our verse for this moment. He is making it a priority by saying it WILL be written, not it might be written, or it should be written, but that it WILL be written.

He was not just concerned with what was happening in the moment, but he was thinking ahead to those who are to come after him. Individuals who are not yet present and how they will benefit from the writing. Guess what, we are part of the "people" he was talking about! Isn't God great!!! I wonder how many lives we can impact by placing such an importance on the value of the writings of God? Who that comes after you, would be blessed to hear your thoughts on walking with the Lord and loving His word?  It IS worth it for us to consider forthcoming generations both in our bloodlines and outside of them and the powerful witness they would get from reading their great, great, great grandpa's/grandma's words concerning our walk with the LORD...

What are you reading and what are some of your thoughts...?

My Journey's Observations
I have been having a lot of protein drinks that are cold and that is getting to me a bit. So, I have integrated soup into my routine. It provides a great contrast to the cold smoothies, which are good, healthy and fit my fasting plan from a food perspective, but they are COLD!!!

How about you?

(I also wanted to remind us of a great resource called RightNow Media that you have free access to for quality teaching. If you need help getting to it, please give me a call. In fact, here is an invite if you haven't already signed up.)

For those of you who are news junkies and are seeking a more healthy alternative I wanted to share something called The Pour Over. It strives to be a neutral source of news bites that decidedly points people to the bible. Remember, we should always be working to allow the Holy Spirit to empower us to plant our feet on higher (and higher, and higher...) ground.

Finally
Remember, if you slip and eat or do something you were intending to fast from, just reset and restart. That is part of the learning curve as well.

I love you with the love of God...

Have a wonderful day and a tremendously blessed week!

Blessings,

Pastor Kris

How blessed we are to have the written Word of God, to guide and enrich our life and the joy it brings as we share it with others.
