21 Days of Prayer & Fasting - Day 13
Day 13 - Sat 1/20/24
Good day to each of you! Let's go in...
Devotional Scripture & Thought
Here is today's scripture with underlined areas of the verse(s) for us ALL to contemplate. I will share a brief thought and you are invited to share your thoughts about the scripture and those highlighted areas in the comments below...
"And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching." Hebrews 10:24-25 (NKJV)
There's something about being together. Whether it's a sports team, and work group, or several concerned community members - working towards a goal together is much different than carrying a load by oneself. Considering one another for the purpose of stirring up love AND good works.
The process of stirring up love is an active one, not at all a passive or accidental, but purposeful much like stirring your cup of coffee is not by chance. The stirring up is for the purpose of good works. We have been talking at length about this early in the year of "ACTIVATED" - meaning activated to good works. The stirring is meant to accomplish something, it is not done just for the sake of doing it.
What are you shooting for this year? What are the good works that need to be accomplished? If we are stirring each other up appropriately, we should aim our efforts individually and collectively. I wonder if you have identified any spiritual goals, health goals, financial well-being goals? You can make a powerful impact if you are deliberate and know what you are going after.
I am praying as a ministry we would grow in our hunger and thirst for going after the lost and hurting. I am praying as a ministry we would grow in our desire to see our systems welcome people, love people, and help people. In fact, I am praying we would grow in our capability to help people find and follow Christ in order to be a more loving family of faith, building Christ-like discipling relationships that holistically empower us for this life and the one to come.
What are you reading and what are some of your thoughts...?
My Journey's Observations
This is a good space to be in as I have gotten pretty accustomed to not having certain foods and managing my scrolling from non-godly sources.
How about you?
(I also wanted to remind us of a great resource called RightNow Media that you have free access to for quality teaching. If you need help getting to it, please give me a call. In fact, here is an invite if you haven't already signed up.)
For those of you who are news junkies and are seeking a more healthy alternative I wanted to share something called The Pour Over. It strives to be a neutral source of news bites that decidedly points people to the bible. Remember, we should always be working to allow the Holy Spirit to empower us to plant our feet on higher (and higher, and higher...) ground.
Finally
Remember, if you slip and eat or do something you were intending to fast from, just reset and restart. That is part of the learning curve as well.
I love you with the love of God...
Have a wonderful day and a tremendously blessed week!
Blessings,
Pastor Kris
